Dial 9 to Get Out is a story about a struggling young office temp who has just five days to figure out that her new boss has a habit of murdering his temps for pleasure - and that she's this week's target. I've set much of the story in an office building after hours, which, as anybody who has worked alone late can attest, is pretty creepy. I finished the latest draft of the screenplay in December 2006. Currently the project is in what you'd call "active development;" on December 13, 2006, I signed a six-month option agreement with producers Gregory Lemkin and Meta Valentic. They are good, competent people who love the script, so hopefully they will be able to make something happen with it. If it gets filmed - hopefully in 2007, but we'll see how long it takes to get the money and the talent together - I will serve as both writer and director. |
